Patt served in several secretarial positions both at NASA Johnson Space Center and Kennedy Space Center. At Johnson Space Center, she worked in the Safety, Reliability, and Quality office and most notably several very busy years in the Orbiter Project Office managing the design/manufacturing/testing of the Space Shuttle Orbiter vehicle. She was recognized for her topnotch editorial skills, sunny personality, and efficiency handling projects not typically given to secretaries. Among many accomplishments, she earned the Recommendation for Official Recognition and the Outstanding Secretary Award. Patt enjoyed traveling and made numerous trips with her husband to Europe. Once, she experienced supersonic flight at over twice the speed of sound and at over 60,000 feet altitude aboard the Concord jet. Throughout forty-three years of marriage, Patt made many friends in moves to New York, Florida, Virginia, and Texas. She passionately loved her grandchildren, her pets, collecting elephants, and being surrounded by seashells as she enjoyed the tunes of Willie, Waylon, and Johnny Cash.
